Vintage Photo Effect:
This is one of my favorites techniques in editing photos using photoshop. In this tutorial I’m going to show you how to apply vintage retro effect in a very simple way. So am going to use Hillary Duff picture.
First open the photo and create a duplicate of it Ctrl + D
Then Fliter/ Blur/ Gaussian Blur and put the radius 5.0 pixels
After this, press Ctrl + Shift + F to open the Fade window, then choose mode Soft Light as in the picture below.
Now press Ctrl + M, or open Images/ Adjustments/ Curves.
Select the Red Channel drop down and change the curve line like shown in the image below.
Select the Green Channel drop down and change the curve line like shown in the image below.
Select the Blue Channel drop down and change the curve line like shown in the image below.
Create a new layer and select the "Color Fill" adjustment layer and pick a color you like. I chose # c30bab and set the blend mode to Soft light with 30% opacity.
Finally, create a new layer and fill it with black # 000000. Then with the marquee tool create a selection inside the picture canvas to create borders and delete the inside selection.
This will be the final result.
Hope you find this tutorial helpful J
